We strive to grow the best quality gourmet mushrooms in a sustainable and organic matter, while making it available to the local community. Here at South Florida Fungi, we believe that everyone should have access to specialty mushrooms AND the education behind them. We’re obsessed with the health benefits for immunity, energy, and longevity that have been studied for centuries, and want to help you learn all about the Mushroom kingdom.

Our story

Beyond Mushrooms, we believe in integrated systems of Agriculture that mimic that of a natural Environment. It all began with South Florida Fresh, an account you can follow on Instagram (@Southfloridafresh) which showcases our small family farm and other local farms in South Florida. We have been passionate about Agriculture for a long time, and now obsessed with all things Mushrooms! We are excited to share this journey with all our customers and followers!

We are a small family operated farm passionate about sustainability, and agriculture. We focus on the production of organic gourmet mushrooms.


Carmen Castellon

Studied Environmental Science, AgroEcology, and Conservation of biodiversity at Florida International University. Her work portfolio includes the Inter-American institute for cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Costa Rica, Fresh King importing and exporting Agricultural goods, and USDA- Farm Service Agency where she worked in agricultural economics as a loan officer.


Arturo Castellon

Studied Environmental Science and AgroEcology at Florida International University. His work portfolio includes the USDA -Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), USDA- Agricultural Research Service (ARS), and M&M Mars, where he worked with tissue cultures of cacao trees.
